The exploration of our surroundings is the core of Xiaoran Feng‘s practice, working with moving images, photography and sound. She explores the relationship between the pseudo-environment and the relative reality through sounds and images. Her practice has been to create various compositional worlds by observing and collecting sounds. Many of the messages that exist around us in sound are inconspicuous but are also part of the world. Through recombining, they inspire us to reconnect with the world as we perceive it.

Xiaoran Feng (b.1998, Dalian) received her BA in Visual Communication Design from Tsinghua University in Beijing. Graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Contemporary Art Practice - Moving Image in July 2023.

冯筱然的艺术实践始于对周围环境的研究，通过摄影、影像与声音，探求“拟态环境”与相对真实之间的关系。她试图将作为信息的存在于人们身边但却并不引人注意的信息组合，创造各种的构成世界。以这种方式激发人们对其认知中的世界重新认识。

冯筱然（b.1998，大连）毕业于北京清华大学，获视觉传达设计学士学位。于2023年7月毕业于英国皇家艺术学院，获当代艺术实践 - 移动影像专业硕士学位。
